Engagement Score Tawfiq Hamed September 2021 1 Introduction To increase the loyalty of our costumers to Celero, we need to improve user experience and give them valuable information about their potential clients. The Engagement Score is one of the better information our customer care about it. In this document I will explain, how the engagement score algorithm works. 2 Algorithm I will explain the algorithms through a Top-Down approach. Algorithm 1: Engagement Score 1 function EngScore (a, b, c); Input : Percent of active pages a, STD group of duration b, and number of special events c Output: score in [1,10] 2 if b is null then 3 return a + ((1 -a) * eventsP ercent(c)); 4 else 5 return b * a + ((1 -(b * a)) * eventsP ercent(c)); 6 end 1. To calculate Engagement score we need 3 parameters, the first one is the Percentage of active pages for the user (Algorithm 3), the second one is the Standard deviation group of active duration’s for content and campaign (Algorithm 4), and the number of special events the user does on content per session. 2. We check if the standard deviation is null, which would mean that there’s exactly one user that have read the content. 3. If we have 1 user that have read a content, then we will exclude the active duration from the engagement score calculations. So, the engagement score will be the percentage of all active pages, and if the user produces a special event, we add the percentage of it (Algorithm 2) to the complement of the active duration. 4. But if we have more than one user, the engagement score will be the percentage of active pages multiplied by the standard deviation group, and if 1
